The Northampton Music Festival is back!
Now entering its 9th Year and attracting thousands to the town, The Northampton Music Festival is a free event designed to raise the profile of the town through Music, to showcase local talent, and to bring the people of the town together for a good old knee’s up!
This year’s festival takes place from the 17-19th June. It will have pop up events and gigs taking place in venues and on town centre streets throughout the weekend, with the main festival Town Centre takeover happening Sunday 19th from 12. All events are free to attend.
This year’s music festival will see stages popping up across the town centre, presenting every kind of music imaginable. Last year saw the addition of 2 new stages offering classical and jazz performances, and this will be repeated for 2016 alongside stages offering everything from indie to acoustic and from blues to reggae, with 6 outdoor stages, pop up events and over 12 venues set to entertain you over the weekend.
All of the acts presented across the festival weekend are from or based in Northamptonshire, making the event an unparalleled celebration of grass roots talent. With over 35,000 visitors expected, NMF is one of the largest urban festivals in the country and is leading the way when it comes to bringing culture and urban spaces together.
The festival sees the town centre transformed with stages, production, art and visual exhibitions, street food and more.
The Northampton Music Festival is run by Northampton Music 365, a not for profit community interest group, in partnership with the Northampton Town Centre BID and Northampton Borough Council, with support from the Northampton Community Foundation and County Council Arts Fund.
There are still lots of opportunities to be involved in this year’s event, as a perfomer, venue, or promoter; for more information contact the organisers at:
